I should warn you all that Roman is still a foster dog–expect an adoption announcement soon. But he’s here in Washington, and to no surprise he’s loving it and wowing everyone he meets. It’s just a matter of time!
I had it in mind to write a mini-novel about Roman’s adventure starting from when Olimpia and Slawek found him as a half-starved stray over two years ago, on and on up to his departure from Taiwan (with eleven other dogs, wow!), and of course, his first days in the beautiful state of Washington. A place he’s thoroughly thrilled with, except for one thing–my grandpa’s electric fence! He’ll figure that one out….
But, vacation mode has me beat, so you’re all getting a slew of pics instead. If anyone wants to add on to this post via the comments, that may be the way to get the mini-novel out after all! Olimpia, Suzanne, Jen, John, etc? Commentary more than welcome! Jon and Vicki–so sorry I didn’t get him over to yours before I left! Such a crazy time.

Everyone who has met Roman will always remember him as being an extra special over sized canine!
Best of luck to him on his new adventures and I know he will make someone very happy one day (soon)
Congrats Chris on this endeavor!

Hi Chris,
My first thought was, “He (You) made it back to the Main Land!” Then, even before reading Your Comment, I knew You must be on Your Fortunate Vacation Mode, being with Your Family. I am very glad for you to be there with Your Beloved Family, especially, Your Aging Grandfather!
Only Picture of You with Roman ( sharing the same name of my Swiss Ph.D.; my Boy-Girl, Great-Grand-Nephew-and Niece-in-law Twins’ Father,) with another dog, was taken in Your Prospective Farm in Washington State, also, originally in your living-room of of your, then, new house I was, with all my luggage pieces?
Wow, You are getting more world-wide Yourself! You managed 11 dogs, not 3, the number that we considered once, only in the spring of last year.
When are you going back to Taiwan, Chris?, before I still hope, you may return to Seattle, or near-by in the state of Washington, Mail Land? At the end of August, or at the beginning of September? I remember well both my trips to Taijen, Taiwan, where You and Your Friends Shared Your Lives there, so kindly and happily, as one of Your Friend; as well as the cherished vacation in Laie, and elsewhere in Oahu, and whole BIg Island of HI, with You and Your Gracious Family, there, two years ago in January, as you were also in Your Vacation Mode.
My days of phoning Drs’ and RXes’ are getting short. Therefore, until the next time, Chris! Please take the best care of yourself, and remember me to all your dear family, especially your mother and Jonah!

As you all know this was a group effort so…whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you. ChrisL–thanks for the webhelp. When I get back you’ll have to explain the last step in getting the pics to go with the post. And yeah, the pasture is so big it’s taking Roman a while to feel comfortable there. (or maybe it was the electric fence episode…)

By the way, let’s have some Roman stories!
He’s loving it here in Washington. I wish he were more receptive to new dog-friends. He’s absolutely receptive to human-friends, including 3-year-olds who hand around his neck! He’s no danger to other dogs, just seems to have a policy of “ignore me and I’ll ignore you.” I’m told by a dog behaviorialist that this is common first contact behavior.
