Lucky Dog

Originally volunteers, one day the small group found themselves ruluctant heirs to the shelter in its entirety, and since then they’ve been striving to place these dogs in loving, permanent homes….And give them food & water and pick up their poop.

The Dakeng Initiative
At the start it was to find a home for 39 dogs before December 31, 2008.  Well here we are, the number down to 20 (and that includes a few late introductions along the way), but it’s nearly September and a December deadline, well, it sure would be nice but we’re aiming for June 1, 2009 now.  And since the landlord had intended to have his place back at the end of this year, a six-month extension is all there is.  So this is it.

There are some great dogs up there.  If you are thinking of taking on a dog, please arrange a visit and have a look at our little friends.  Or if you want to put some positive energy into the world, there’s always plenty to do at our shelter–site maintenance, daily dog care, bathing and medical treatments, trips to adoption events, and just good old quality interaction with the dogs.  Please, contact us!
