Bernard is an extremely friendly and energetic boy. He loves going out for runs, or playtime with his brother Tanook and his other shelter friends. He’s friendly to all dogs and not at all timid with people. He will run up to strangers to get his head and ears rubbed.
His only fault really is that he is such a good escape artist. He finds holes in the fence before anyone else, and can jump the low fences. But he’s smart enough to always come back immediately. I think he just wants to show us that he can do it! He’s quite a runner too. I had him chase me on my bike once and was going over 40km/ph and he was still right behind me! He’s also a good hunter. I’ve seen him get rats, toads and snakes on numerous occasions.

Good News! Bernard has been taken in by a family from Tapei. They chose Bernard specifically for his high energy, and he will not let them down. Good Luck Bern we miss you!

Yes, indeed, Bernard. He was a super-high-energy dog who was adopted for just that reason, by a guy in Taipei who works as a bodyguard and wanted a dog he could take on his daily 20-km runs. Sweet eh?
