Trooper is being fostered at Chris’ house right now. One day he turned up in the neighbourhood looking for a home, and started following people to their doors, trying to charm his way in. After a few weeks someone was going to call the pound, so we took him to our shelter. (Pound dogs in Taiwan are pretty sure to be put down, and it’s not done humanely.)

After a few uneventful months at the shelter the other dogs suddenly decided they didn’t want him there anymore– we still don’t know why. It might have something to do with his rambunctious way of playing; he tends to jump on other dogs as if they are his toys. In any case, the shelter dogs ganged up on him until Chris took him home, where his aggressive behaviour has mellowed.  Maybe he’s learning, or simply growing out of it, but he’s toned it down quite a bit.

He’s comfortable with children, he’s house trained, and he’s good off-leash. This fellow needs to burn off his energy, so is well suited to an active person, or someone with a big yard.
